Today, a severe weather system tore into Oklahoma, resulting in a deadly tornado outbreak. Residents are urged to seek immediate shelter as per the urgent warnings given by the local authorities. With the possibility of strong storms looming big over the Central United States, from Missouri to Texas, the influence goes well beyond the boundaries of the region.

Major damage was reported in Sulphur, Ardmore, and the area around Holdenville, while minor damage was reported in Oklahoma City, according to officials. In addition to other communication problems, the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management has received numerous reports of floods, power outages, fallen trees, minor to serious injuries, and property damage. South of Sulphur, a sizable and incredibly deadly tornado was traveling 35 mph northward. First responders must instantly get ready for more tornado impacts! CNN reported that the Norman weather service issued a warning.

47 million people at risk as Tornado his Central US

Approximately 47 million people in the central United States are in danger of experiencing severe weather today as storms continue to pound the region from East Texas northward to the upper Mississippi River valley. This is in addition to the terrible storms that struck Iowa and Nebraska on Friday. Horrifying photos and videos that went viral on social media demonstrated the storms' tremendous power and the devastation they caused in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska. At least nine tornadoes were confirmed to have touched down in the state by the National Weather Service in Des Moines, Iowa, and surveys are still being conducted to determine the entire amount of damage that was caused.

"In addition to the severe weather, intense rainfall rates are expected to accompany these thunderstorms at times, leading to a moderate to locally high potential of flash flooding," according to the National Weather Service.
The storm is expected to cause significant damage and possibly even fatalities through Monday in some areas of the central plains, according to NWS. Over 70 tornadoes were predicted to rip across the United States in total, with the most of the damage being focused in and around Omaha, Nebraska, a significant hub for transportation.
