Noida scrap metal mafia Ravi Kana, girlfriend Kajal Jha detained in Thailand

Official sources told NDTV on Tuesday that Ravindra Nagar, also known as Ravi Kana, is an Uttar Pradesh mobster and member of the scrap metal mafia who has been arrested in Thailand. Kajal Jha, Kana's girlfriend, has also been placed under arrest. The Noida Police had multiple cases where Kana was wanted. According to the report, Noida Police provided all of the Thailand Police with information about the thug.

Police claim that Kana led a 16-person gang that engaged in the unlawful buying and selling of scrap metal and rebar. Under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, a case was filed against Kana on January 2. Kana and his colleagues are the subject of over 11 cases, including theft and kidnapping allegations. A red corner notice was also issued in January for him.

According to reports, Kana made a fortune by extorting companies in the Delhi-NCR area and forming a gang to buy and sell scrap material illegally. Several scrap godowns in Greater Noida that the group was allegedly using have been sealed, and six members of his gang have already been taken into custody.

Police had apprehended 19 commercial cars owned by scrap dealer-gangster Kana in February, with an estimated value of ₹4.31 crore.

Section 14(1) of the Gangsters Act was used to attach 19 vehicles totaling ₹4.31 crore as part of the investigation into the case against Ravindra Nagar, also known as Ravi Kana. In addition, a police spokeswoman had stated that two bank accounts related to him, valued at ₹21,268 and ₹38,623, had been frozen.To stop monies from being sent to gangs and organized crime, criminals' ill-gotten assets may be attached under Section 14(1) of the Gangsters' Act. The Noida Police recently declared that it had apprehended assets belonging to Kana and his associates valued at over ₹ 120 crore.
